Project Overview
Poplar Carpets exhibited at Buildit Live West, held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern on 30–31 May 2026. Build It Live is a consumer show for self-builders, renovators and home improvers, so visitors were there to plan real projects rather than browse casually — which raised the bar for a flooring stand to actually demonstrate product, not just display it. As a flooring supplier, Poplar's stand had to put the client's own products underfoot while giving visitors somewhere to handle samples: the finished build paired herringbone timber-effect flooring with a styled lifestyle seating area, branded alongside supplier partners Karndean Designflooring and Kensington Trims.
Scope of Work
A stand where the floor itself was the product.
Subfloor supplied and fitted, with the client's own flooring laid on top
A level base built to take the wear of a two-day show, with Poplar's own flooring laid straight onto it — so the stand floor doubled as a live product demonstration, not just a sample board.
Bespoke reception table built to hold client samples
A single piece serving as both welcome desk and sample display, keeping the two things a visitor needs first — someone to talk to and a product to touch — in the same spot.
Exhibition walling with full seamless graphics to all faces
Uninterrupted brand imagery across every visible surface, with no panel joins breaking up the photography or the supplier branding.
Headers with downlights supplied and fitted
Lighting the display areas and lifting the stand above neighbouring builds, giving the flooring samples underneath proper light to be seen by rather than relying on the hall's own lighting.
Outcome
Fitting Poplar's own flooring across the stand turned the floor itself into the product demonstration, with the bespoke reception table keeping Karndean and Kensington Trims sample boards within reach at the front of the stand. The headers gave the build height and lit the display walls, so the stand worked as a working showroom rather than a static display — visitors could stand on the product being sold to them, which is the one thing a catalogue or a sample board can never do.
